How often do female mice come into heat?

I am planning on breeding mice and i was just wondering how often do female mice come into heat and how long do they stay pregnant for?

We have been breeding mice for a while to feed my ball python. It's loads cheaper than buying the frozen mice. Females come into heat every 10 days until they get bred. If you leave a male with them all the time, they will have a litter every 30 days, no joke. I normally leave the male in there until she has the babies, then take him out. Mark on a calendar and don't let her breed for two weeks or a month. If you need a lot of babies just leave him in there. They will actually come into heat the day after they drop babies. It's freakin crazy. Just be careful, before you know it they will be everywhere. If you don't separate the little male babies from the female babies then they will breed.


But the place where I got my mice were selling the like hotcakes. They were just all in this big container drawer deal. He just left them all together. He was interested in volume though. I am not, in fact I let my females breed 3 times, and then feed them to my snake. They end up dying after 6 months anyway. Pet shops inbreed like an s.o.b.
