I need to know how to get rid of pet mice?

I need to get rid of my childrens pet mice in a good way. they are very sweet and colorful. I need to know if pet stores will take them. we have some pinkies,but most of them are grown. any ideas would be great.I need to know how to get rid of pet mice?
you can try to give them to petsmart although they don't take very good care of their animals. you could also try craigslist or any type of forum that you could post them on. i think the best thing to do with them though is to see if any no kill pet shelter will take them in.I need to know how to get rid of pet mice?
I'm guessing that you kept males and females together, and ended up with a ton of babies? If your kids still want to keep some of them, make sure that any you keep are of the same gender so that they won't have more babies. (And make sure the females you keep aren't already pregnant.)





Right away, you should separate the males and females (make sure the pinkies stay with their mother, though; they can't breed until they're five weeks old). You don't want even MORE babies.





Wait until the pinkies are six weeks old before giving them away. Advertise free mice; you could put an ad in the paper, or have your kids ask their friends if any want pet mice. Pet stores may take some of them, though those might end up as snake food. (Sad fact of the world.) If you have any takers, make sure they only get mice that are of the same gender so they don't have another rodent population explosion of their own.
If you give them to the pet sotre, the pinkies will be re-sold as snake food, so try to avoid that option.





I think you should advertise them on Craigslist. There are a lot of postings on there for pets- just put ';Free to a good home,'; and make sure you mention that their cage comes with the mice if they take them all together. That way, the mice can stay with their family members!
Some pet stores will take them and offer them up for adoption petco does for sure. Put some signs up in your local vets offices/pet stores or laundromats with your phone on the sign, and whatever other info you may need to convey.


Just be sure whoever gets them isn't going to use them as food.
give them away to a special friend or just have someone who loves mice adopt them





i used to have gerbils thier names were spike (boy) and erica (girl)


i remember they had lots of babys and i learned never leave all the gerbils in the whole 1 cage its self or they are goin to get in so many fights

You shouldn't have got them if you couldn't give them the life they deserve. but definitely do all you can to make sure they get a good home.





And letting them having babies? irresponsible
take them to the nearest pet store that carries mice, preferably one that doesn't carry snakes=[





yes, pet stores will take them, but depending on the store, they may or may not pay u 4 them.

I had this sme sorta problem with my guinea-pigs and i didnt want to give them to a petstore so i called up the RSPCA and they will find a new loving home for the hamsters

Definitely take them to a shelter. Call to make sure they take animals other than cats %26amp; dogs but most places in the US have a shelter not too far away that would take them.
You could probably take them to a pet store, I would be worried someone will probably buy them to feed them to their snakes though. Sorry!

i had hamsters i didn't want so i went to the closest pet store and stood outside and gave them away
