Do field mice sleep with their eyes open?

I was walking to the shop when I saw a field mouse. It's eyes were wide open and it was still as a statue. I don't know weather it was dead or sleeping.Do field mice sleep with their eyes open?
They don't sleep with their eyes open. It may have been dead, but the chances are it wouldn't have been on it's legs then. If it was (standing), it was probably just really scared. When rodents get like this they will stay very still in hope that nothing sees them but will keep their eyes fully open as they will be very alert.Do field mice sleep with their eyes open?
They don't sleep with their eyes open. i could have been dead, or it could have been scared stiff. If it was sacred it wouldn't move in the fear that something would chase/see it. Its eyes would say open if that was the case. If it were to be sleeping it wouldn't be in plain sight. it would hide somewhere it felt safe and out of view from predators.
