call the health department. they will make your landlord do something about it, if he won't.I have mice getting into my refrigerater?
It will be hard to convince a judge that the mice are the landlords problem, not yours. Mice can squeeze through very small holes. I have never heard of anything chewing through the seal to get in the refrigerator. Sorry
OK I am a wife of a pest control husband and he has told me SOME STORIES and what you need to do is to check arould on the base boards near the floor to see where they are coming in at because there has to be a way for them to be getting in second put GLUE boards down around the floor AGAINST the wall that is how they travel is up against the wall next clean all crumbs up out from underneath fridge you can even put a GKUE board under your fridge it wont kill them it is not poison because if you use posion you might not beable to find them and then they will stink and that would be really nasty good luck if that doesnt work call your local exterminator or pest control like Command or Orkin Terminix sucks!!!! I also just remembered that you are a renter so you can let your landlord know to call the exterminator and if they dont do it the you can just call and and take it out of your rent it that doesnt work give notice and they are braking the lease by not providing a safe healthy habitat and you should be able to get your deposit back and be free and clear......
You can hire a exterminator, or put peanut butter on a mouse trap, but becareful so it does not snap on to your finger and hurt it when setting the trap up. They love peanut butter. or you could get some kind of poison, but wear gloves and wash your hands after handling it so you don't poison yourself. or get one of those sticky pads as mouse trap and place it some where you suspect it may be coming through some area and place it right there where they have no choice to go through. If you do get one dead, I suggest getting a bag, gloves, mask, put it in a bag and make sure it is dead. and through it in garbage far, far, far away. Because who knows it might come back alive and come back to your place. Be aware that there are some mice or mouse do carry diseases; like Hantavirus from Deer mice. If you do see mouse droppings, please do not sweep it up, and consult a exterminator for advice on how to clean it up so you do not became dead! Your landlord should be doing something about it, and if not consult your health department about it. Or give the landlord the bill for having a exterminator in your place to get rid of a pest. Beside you already paid for the other objects to get rid of mice or mouse. Do you still have the recepts. I suggest photocopying them for legal reasons just in case. Also you should check out the fridge for any holes where the mouse is coming in and cover it with something for now. Don't buy a new refridgerator for a rental place that is the landlord's responsiblity. Mouses and mice can chew on just about anything to creat a hole to get to food. They can crawl through round holes smaller than their body, but they somehow can't get through a square hole, which I believe it has something to do with their body structure. Anyhow, good luck with the problem.
I once read that all you need to do is ';borrow'; some used cat litter from a friend with a cat and leave it around. The mice smell that and won't come near the place. LOL I once had a friend borrow my cat for a few days. She never saw any dead mice but they mysteriously disappeared. Try that one ;)
