To A Mouse by Robert Burns and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck?

What is the theme of the poem?

Why was John Steinbeck inspried to title his book after this poem?

What character would the theme agree with?To A Mouse by Robert Burns and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck?
To a Mouse theme:

Basically it starts with the a mouse house that has been overturned by a plow. The poem goes on to say that he feels bad that the mouse's house is now ruined, that it probably took the mouse a lot of time to build it, and it was overturned in a second by man.

But then as the mouse goes on to he relates to the mouse saying that he knows what its like to have plans for the future that you think are going to make you so happy, but then it doesn't work out and then it leaves you with so much pain.

It ends with him saying that the mouse is actually more blessed then he is because the mouse can go on and rebuild his house and doesn't remember what he has lost (his past house) and only focuses on the present, where he looks back with the things he's lost, which makes him sad and hard to look forward.

*The poem proses the question is having a memory, being aware, and remembering a curse or a blessing?

Who's better off, the man or the mouse ( in the poem the mouse is better off, even after loosing his house)

2. He was inspired by the poem's theme and the prose in the poem ';the best laid schemes of mice and men, often go askew ( in translation) because it sums up his story and gives the overall theme for his novel. Basically, things don't go as you usually plan them.

3. Well the man from the poem is defiantly George. He's a dreamer blah blah and the mouse is definitely Lennie. He's a strong man ( worker) that only can process what is going on at the present. This would lead the overall theme of the book.. who has it better? Would you rather be George, and mentally capable, can dream big, know what Lennie has done? Or would you rather be Lennie who doesn't realize the consequence of his actions and only sees the present, and I guess who really likes to play with bunnies =)

hope this helps
