My 3 mice, they are hard enought o take care of as is, but is there any precaution or anything I should have on them? Since winter is approaching, its gonna get colder. ]:
Oh yeah
And why is it only my girl mouse that squeeks? O_O
The guys are silent. Is there a particular way on how I should take care of my mice in the winter?
I would give them extra bedding, strips of soft cotton clothing for them to shred and make their own extra warm bed. I had three hairless rats and to get them through a cold winter (my house always feels cold!) I made sure each winter to give them plenty of cotton balls. They had the most fun turning it into bedding. Also if they are in a cage where there is room for a low-lying hammock for them to nest in. I would suggest making the hammock yourself out of old cloth and clothes pins (to hang it) because they will quickly chew up the hammock. Also since rodents are so messy, all of this stuff should be replaced at least every two weeks (once a week is great if possible).
Also be sure to offer them an especially nutrient rich diet. Pellets from the pet store are good to always have in the cage, but fresh grapes and carrots are something that will add to a longer life span for your pet because not only are they good for nutrients, but also keep the animal happy not bored. Also exotic treats such as mango slices are wonderful to give to your mice to boost the immune system during the winter.
Females of the species are usually more vocal than males and typically have a more highly developed vocal box for communicating with potential mates as well as their young.
